Boss fight and avatar updates


Hello! 

Now that April Fool's Day is over I thought I could update you on the current state of the game!

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has visited the page and those who downloaded the game. This is the first project that has caught any sort of traction of this scale for me. I am truly thankful.

Since the last post, I have been hard at work on redesigning the boss fight at the later part of the game. As I had said before, I was never happy with the simplicity of the game-jam's version of the boss fight. It was too short and to the point. Now I have extended the whole section and level to a three-part event. I thought of using three parts as it is a fairly classic design for this era of game design (GB COLOR). Below is a screenshot of the whole level, even if it's incomplete. How it works I won't tell here. I'll leave this up here for you to figure out or to experience later ;)


In other exciting news, I have made a commission to redesign of the characters Oracle and Ronin. These are the concept sketches of the two characters. I decided to commission these, although I liked the digitalized style of the stock photos, I was worried about licensing issues for the one I used for Oracle. Ronin tagged along as a commission to keep a visual style cohesion.

I have still two features to make in the boss fight and then the level will be done. The plan is to then start working on the game's music. It will be an interesting stint of the journey since I have never done that before! But I am sure I can make it! After the music and sound effects, there will only be some polish left to do before I release the full version of the game.
